As Carreiro Photo celebrates its 10th Anniversary, we thought that it would be a great to honor the transformation that the business has made over the past ten years. Carreiro Photo was established in 2010 by photographer Matt Carreiro of Fall River, MA. He was 24 years old at the time and had been developing his skills as a nature, architectural, and lifestyle photographer since attending New England School of Photography (NESOP) in Waltham, MA in 2007. The depth of Matt’s portfolio is captivating and showcases his unique sense of perspective and his ability to bring sleepy objects to life as well as his passion for capturing the sweet and subtle moments of vulnerability in the in betweens. His experience ranges from product advertisement and website photography, to sports photography, to the occasional breaking and entering for just the right shot. It’s been a passion project that has introduced him to things that he never would have seen if not through the lens of his camera.

In 2014 Matt met Amanda. At that time in his career he was primarily a wedding and portrait photographer and he had a small studio that he was working out of in Fall River. In 2015 Matt and Amanda welcomed their first son, and Matt’s craft took a natural progression to focus more on newborn, infant, and family photography. Matt’s passion for photography did not necessarily equate to a passion for shopping and finding just the right kind of fuzzy blanket to cradle a newborn, and that, is how it became a family business. Amanda has taken on a lot of the business and advertising aspects of the operation, as well as prop and set designs. We are currently offering on site sessions by request and at seasonal locations which will be updated regularly on our booking page as well as Facebook. We also bought a home in 2019 and have been doing lots of sweet family sessions right on the property. We have a great screened in porch which provides excellent diffused light for newborn sessions and we have a fantastic playground area in the backyard to keep the little ones busy in between shots.

Being parents ourselves, we understand that most photoshoots involving children do not go according to plan. We have a ton of patience (and practice!) with managing strong willed toddlers and remaining calm. We know that the moments you really want to capture forever are not necessarily the ones you are going to put on your Christmas card and we will be sure that you have those to keep forever as well. We have been so lucky to have been able to watch many of the clients that we have worked with as they are growing and transitioning into new phases of their lives. Carreiro Photo has been growing with you, and we are excited to see what is next for all of us!
